Meet Your Hosts — Mike & Satu
Owners of Country Dance Champions LLC, Mike and Satu lead an online training platform that helps dancers all over the world grow their skills and confidence. They are also 5-time UCWDC Masters World Champions and former champions whose passion for dance has shaped their entire journey.
After retiring from competition, they devoted themselves to teaching, mentoring, and sharing the tools that helped them succeed. They created Country Dance Camp because they believe every dancer deserves a supportive place to learn, improve, and feel encouraged. Their heart is to give dancers a comfortable environment where growth feels exciting, safe, and achievable for everyone.
Mike and Satu can’t wait to welcome you and guide you through an inspiring and uplifting weekend at Country Dance Camp.
Gretchen Smith
Gretchen began her dance journey at the age of 15 in a group swing dance class—and she hasn’t left the dance floor since. Known for her energy, passion, and dedication to her students, she loves teaching, competing alongside them, and constantly pushing herself to grow as a dancer. Gretchen is a many-time UCWDC Top Teacher and an accomplished Classic Masters competitor.
When she’s not lighting up the dance floor, you’ll find her training for road races, working out, or spending time with her crew at home: her two rescue pitties Guinness and Millie, her cat Selena, and her husband Tim.
